User roles in Google Analytics are divided into five:

Administrator Role:
User Access Overview: Administrators have the highest level of access in GA4, with permissions encompassing all other roles.
Specific Access Details: Administrators can manage users and data restriction settings exclusively.
They have control over both GA4 accounts and properties, including user management and access permissions for properties.
Caution: This level of access should be used sparingly, as administrators can potentially lock others out of the account.Pro Tip: It is advisable to have at least two administrators for account recovery purposes.
Editor Role:
User Access Overview: Editors have full control over an account or property, similar to administrators, but lack the ability to manage other users and their permissions.
Specific Access Details: Editors can perform various tasks, including activating enhanced measurements or deleting a property.
This role is recommended for advanced users who are familiar with Google Analytics and preferably certified.
Marketer Role:
User Access Overview: Marketers have more restricted permissions compared to editors, mainly focusing on analytics skills.
Specific Access Details: Marketers inherit permissions from lower-ranking roles.
They can manage audiences, conversions, and custom events but cannot change session settings.
Analyst Role:
User Access Overview: Analysts work with available data without access to settings related to data collection or linking products to GA4.
Specific Access Details: Great for teamwork, allowing collaboration without posing a risk to settings.
Analysts can work with reports and explorations and manage or collaborate on shared assets, like custom reports.
Viewer Role:
User Access Overview: Viewers have the lowest GA4 access rights, focusing on data observation without the ability to make changes or collaborate.
Specific Access Details: Viewers can add secondary dimensions to reports, make comparisons in real-time reports, and view shared assets.
The role is less restrictive than it may seem and can be experienced in the GA4 demo account.
